Pembrokeshire Author Interview: Phil Rowlands

Born and bred in Haverfordwest, Phil Rowlands has been an actor, screenwriter, and is now an author and publisher. He was one of the first actors to be employed at the Torch Theatre. As Narberth’s only independent bookshop, we’re hugely keen on championing local authors and we’re delighted to stock Phil’s novels.

Phil co-runs a crime publishing company, Diamond Crime, and he’s an active member of Crime Cymru, a collective of Welsh crime writers.

This is the first of three interviews he gave us, in a Chapter One chat session and this one is about the theme of inspiration and grief. Phil tells a most moving personal story about his own experience of grief, and how he chanelled this into creative output.

The next two interviews are about getting inspired by Pembrokeshire and advice for aspiring writers, and they’ll be here soon.
