New and Second Hand Books
As well as our new books, we have thousands of secondhand books for sale. Hundreds of more ‘special’ editions are not on display, but are advertised in our Ebay shop, priced from £10 upwards. These include first or rare editions; high value titles; signed copies and art books, all of which can be viewed here.

Chapter One’s Story
Chapter One is a friendly and quirky independent bookshop attached to Narberth Museum and we’re Narberth’s only independent bookshop, too.
Our home is the old Bonded Stores in Narberth, previously used to store duty-free whisky, brandy and rum. Now we host new and second hand books, with a fascinating and fun West Wales folk collection, plus a cafe with drinks and cake. With over 6000 titles, we’re a haven for booklovers, especially those who love independent local bookshops. We’re thrilled to say that in keeping with our history, we’re still licensed premises.
Here, you’ll find a large selection of children’s books, cards, local and Welsh history books. We’ve biographies, cookbooks, arts and culture writing, poetry, nature writing, popular science and literary fiction.
You’ll also find Welsh fiction, books for learners and novels and other works by local authors. And our second hand books cover just about every subject you could possibly imagine.
We love to host events for booklovers and local writers, and think of ourselves as a home of stories, both in the bookshop and the museum.
